I have read where a lot of users had gone to and other websites that still sell the older base game just so that they can go uninstall the newer or digital download of the base game just to reinstall the base game using the older base game so that they can bypass Origin. These are cheaper mini-expansions that add a variety of items to the game that are unified by a common theme but without any new major features. Any base game that came out before September 2012 don't need Origin to launch the game with unless that user had updated to the 1.69 patch. Now, while expansions contain the bulk of the extra Sims 3 content that you can get your hands on, there are also the so-called stuff packs. the older base game that came out before September 2012.
As james64468 has said that you can check all of them and still play the game the way that you want to play.Īnd my guess is that since you just got into playing TS3 that you probably have the newer base game where you need Origin to launch the game with vs. 1-16 of 356 results for 'the sims 3 expansion packs' The Sims 3 University Life.
I have all my games registered on the sims website which is connected to my origin account. But in my games, it only shows The sims 3 and none of my expansion pack. It's only doing that because the launcher thinks that you would get optimal game play by leaving some of them out. So I downloaded origin for my computer, and went to download my sims for it. The patch allows for people to pick and choose which packs that they want to play with but a lot of people have been getting what you have gotten about disabling some packs. I'm guessing that you must be patched up to 1.69 if your getting that message about only being able to play with certain packs.
